China Country Side

Just got back from a couple of weeks of traveling in southwest China. It was quite an exciting time, which included my mom traveling with me, and her deciding that this will probably be the last time she would venture out to rural minority villages with me. (more on the story behind that later. ) Here is a picture of tiered-farming in the mountainous part of Guizhou province. The rocky and mountainous geography of Guizhou is one of the main reasons why it has always been one of the poorest provinces in China throughout recent history.
